The global fashion group, AWWG and Mastercard are collaborating with the Spanish Red Cross as part of the “Cruz Roja Te Escucha” campaign which offers support and psychosocial care to those people who need it the most. Thanks to the initiative, anyone paying by card at Pepe Jeans London stores in Spain will be able to make a donation with 100% of the proceeds going towards offering essential support to the most vulnerable people to have been affected by the current health crisis.
Pepe Jeans London stores in Spain have become the first retailer to run this initiative, which will soon also be rolled out in other markets such as Portugal, Germany and France. Through this innovative donation scheme, managed by Wordccoo, using Adyen Giving’s digital solution, Pepe Jeans London customers will be able to make a micro-donation for a social cause.
The contributions will be carried out with complete transparency and ease, both for the client and the business, given that the donation will be an independent transaction to the purchase and the proceeds will go directly to “Cruz Roja Te Escucha”.
Worldcoo, a Spanish-based social company experienced in developing and implementing different collection channels, will be in charge of overseeing the initiative at points of sale.
Facing the pandemic
Hoping to help overcome the effects of the pandemic together, the global fashion group AWWG will be the first retailer to kickstart this collaboration. When paying by credit card, customers will be able to select from a variety of different options to support the project in store.
In addition to AWWG, the tech multinational Mastercard has also signed up to the initiative. AWWG and Mastercard will add to customer contributions by matching the final donation total received, until the total amount has been doubled.
The “Cruz Roja Te Escucha” project offers support and psychosocial accompaniment to the following groups of people:
- Those that, due to illness, loneliness, advanced age, loss of employment, functional diversity, or homelessness, among others, are doubly affected by this crisis and by the confinement situation that we are living.
- Relatives and friends of people with a serious health condition (including those hospitalized or isolated at home) or that have already passed away because of Covid-19.
- Volunteers and workers carrying out humanitarian interventions without precedents.
The service is provided by Spanish Red Cross workers and volunteers who are specialists in psychosocial support and accompaniment. The program also counts on the aid of psychology professionals from the Organization and specialists in different areas of psychological care, for more complex cases and situations.
